Finance Assistant (16 hrs a week)

ADRA-UK is looking to engage someone to work with us part-time as a Finance Assistant. You would provide financial administrative support to the ADRA-UK Accountant. Your main role will be to assist with our general book keeping, the Annual Appeal reconciliation, donations processing and cash accounting. You must have excellent numerical skills and be proficient in using Excel with great attention to detail.  Previous experience in a finance role or with digital accounting software would be an advantage.

Starting at £12,330 per annum (16 hrs a week)

Trustee for ADRA-UK

We are looking for 2 – 3 new Trustees for ADRA-UK.  This is a voluntary role which helps to determine and oversee the strategy and development of the organisation, working closely with the CEO, Bert Smit.

About the opportunity

The key responsibilities of ADRA-UK’s Board Directors are to:

  • set the mission, vision and strategy for the organisation
  • ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and governing documents
  • ensure effective management and financial stability
  • act as an advocate for the organisation through networking

Person specification

All board members are required to have: 

  • Commitment to ADRA-UK’s aims and values;
  • Good networks of contacts in relevant fields;
  • Availability to attend quarterly board meetings at ADRA-UK’s Watford office (evening) in addition to events and networking opportunities;
  • Provide further input as required not amounting to more than 12 hours per month;
  • Independent judgement, strategic vision and ability to challenge constructively;

It is desirable that board members have prior experience of committee / trustee work. This is an unpaid role however travel expenses will be reimbursed.

In addition, we are specifically looking for the following skills to complement our existing Board members:

-       accountability of civil society organisations;

-       food security;

-       alternative energy &natural resource management;

-       NGOs at international level;

-       international financial institutions;

-       educational sector;
